Morbid Anatomy
About Course
Morbid Anatomy, also known as pathological anatomy, focuses on the structural and morphological changes in tissues and organs caused by disease. It is a core subject in medical and chiropractic education, helping students understand how illness alters normal anatomy and how these changes relate to clinical symptoms.
This course explores both gross (macroscopic) and microscopic changes in organs due to conditions such as inflammation, infection, degeneration, tumors, and trauma. Through this knowledge, students gain critical insight into disease progression, helping them make informed decisions in diagnosis and care.
Understanding morbid anatomy allows chiropractic professionals to better recognize the boundaries of manual care and refer patients appropriately when pathology lies outside their scope.
